My apologies for announcing RantRadio & JnL-Live yesterday (or was it the day before? Occupy-time, yo.) . . . it is tonight. Also, the Mali piece will come later in the season. First we get some important background on Africa.

Today we got got some good work done on the van, and completed the last big project . . . for the moment. We also have something special to share with you — poetry of the revolution. A poem by Stacy comes first, it is untitled and for me it captures the spirit of the hard-ground Occupier. I am proud to be Stacy’s comrade-in-arms for she is the embodiment of this poem, and much more.

Truth has set me free
My conscience is clear
I know my place
Right here
And I stand
In the face
Of lies and deceit
I am free
Standing on my own two feet
Listening to the voice inside me
I am free
Surrounded by an army
I am free
Sitting in jail
I am free
Standing for what’s right
I will fight
No guilt
I am free my hands zip tied behind my back
I am free
I shall not back down
I will stand my ground
No money no job
Weary and tired
I am free
With nothing but time
and truth
I am free
I will not move
Until you are free too.

As a companion poem I present one of my own:

Fragile Beauty Sparkles In Thunderstorms
Weeds are flowers
that nobody loves.
Wild, tenacious,
infectious.
Seeking, always seeking
life
new life
no borders.
Deep green fighting,
always fighting
for life.
Ripped up, torn
and tossed.
Dug up
by the roots.
Still seeking, always
seeking
life.
Weeds are flowers
that nobody loves:
pesticides
herbicides
gasoline
agent orange
napalm
dark green struggling
for life
seeking, sun
seeking, water
seeking, food
seeking, life.
Life
bud
blossom
flower
raindrops
beautiful
life.
I
love weeds.

We now return to our mundane works where we are preparing to bring our revolutionary minds out across the continent that is Turtle Island.
