at a community meeting today, we consented to serving free vegan (or vegetarian) meals at the various actions we will be traveling to under the names people’s kitchen / food not bombs.
coming to consensus is not as hard and scary as it sounds. unlike voting, where a majority vote by only those who participate dictates a decision for all, members of the community participate in the decision making process, and through discussions, will shape the final proposal, that all must consent to, in order to move forward. giving your consent is not necessarily a yes, but rather your approval to let the proposal, which would be beneficial to the community, pass.
to the left, a comrade on the documentary crew, tends to a toasted, cashew buttered bagel. yes, yumm! you can say that again.
